On March 15, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. hundreds of concerned parents, teachers, students, and friends gathered together at Morehouse College for the Box Tops For Education Town Hall meeting. Each individual in attendance shared a common goal; to raise awareness about the importance of rearing smart, informed, healthy children and to bring to the forefront the various ways that parents, children, and members of the community can ban together to help local schools receive funds for essential learning tools through the Box Tops For Education Program.
This free panel discussion, which was open to the public, was hosted by author/comedian/radio personality Steve Harvey and co-moderated by former ESSENCE magazine editor Susan Taylor. The panel participants included singer/songwriter Monica, singer/reality TV Star Chilli from award winning group TLC, actress Tisha Campbell-Martin and other expert panel guests. The panel touched on the impact that the program has in each of their homes and in their children’s schools. They also spoke to the importance of coming together to build a support system for both the students and the teacher in each and every classroom through out the nation. The panel was well informed and did an excellent job of conveying the heart of the mission behind the Box Tops program.
Since 1996, Box Tops for Education has helped America’s schools earn over $400 million along with the help of individuals like yourself who have clipped countless numbers of Box Tops coupons from hundreds of participating products. How can you help? So glad you asked! Do your part by continuing to clip Box Tops from eligible General Mills products and partnering with a local school to donate them to and visit www.btfe.com to discover other ways that you can support this great initiative.
